How do to get rid of the yellow triangle with exclamation status in Qube Manager

I have a VM with the name

Mullvad-Wireguard-VPN-Template

=> Status: yellow triangle with !

Template: TemplateVM

NetVM: sys-net

Question, what do I have to do to get rid of the yellow triangle with !

I have never done this before.

Yellow triangle in Qube Manager? Like the screenshot below?

This means that the template is EOL (End-of-life). There should be some instructions from Mullvad on how to download updated templates or update the existing template in-place

Yes, that’s right
=> Status: yellow triangle with !

Do you use gentoo-minimal template?

I try ‘emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --newuse @world’, but I view error message:

emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy “>=x11-libs/cairo-1.15.10[svg(+),X=]”,
!!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request:

  • x11-libs/cairo-1.18.4::gentoo (Change USE: -X)
  • dev-python/pycairo-1.28.0::gentoo (Change USE: +X)
    (dependency required by “dev-python/pycairo-1.28.0::gentoo” [ebuild])
    (dependency required by “app-emulation/qubes-utils-4.2.18::qubes” [ebuild])
    (dependency required by “@selected” [set])
    (dependency required by “@world” [augument])

How did you deal with it?

It means it’s out of support.

Ok. Since I do not use the Mullvad VPN personally, I changed the topic title to allow users who are more familiar with it to help you on how to update/upgrade it. So the triangle sign would disapper.

Off-topic

Unfortunately I have not updated the Gentoo template for a long time (it was for testing purposes). Since this testing laptop is not very powerful, it does not have enough process power to build the template frequently.

Name: Mullvad-Wireguard-VPN

Was linked to the templete: fedora-40

Now I have changed this to: fedora-41

The error
=> Status: yellow triangle with !

but remained with Mullvad-Wireguard-VPN-Template

The solution is in the below issue report :

I dont understand.
Is this right? You have a qube called Mullvad-Wireguard-VPN which is
based on a template - you have change the template to fedora-41.
You have a separate template called Mullvad-Wireguard-VPN-Template -
it is this that shows the yellow triangle.
What do you see if you point to the triangle and hover on it?

I think this was a mistake - users may want to understand the yellow
triangle issue even when they dont have a Mullvad template.

Here is the image of my VPNs

personal-security-VPN, is just a storage place of VPN info, files and so on.

Can I now

fedora-40
fedora-40-minimal
fedora-40-xce

delete / remove?

As some users like @unman can’t see the image, it’s better to describe it.

So the warning icon (yellow triangle) is displayed as the status of a qube called Mullvad-Wireguard-VPN-Template which is a TemplateVM with sys-net as the NetVM.

Putting your cursor on the triangle doesn’t show a tooltip like the one in @alimirjamali’s screenshot? If so, could you write it down here?

Could you check the exact version of Fedora used in Mullvad-Wireguard-VPN-Template?

This qube based on a distribution that is no longer supported Install new template with Template Manager

So that template was cloned from another template that is now not
supported.
If it was from a Fedora template (which one?), and you want to keep it
as is, you will have to do an in place upgrade. This is documented
here

Alternatively, you can clone an up to date Fedora template, and apply
the same packages and settings as you did when building the
Mullvad-Wireguard-VPN-Template to get a fresh new template.
