Disclaimer: Iā€™m just a normal user, not an expert!

I bought a Clevo NH55HPQ halfway across the world as the country I live in doesnā€™t have Clevoā€™s (and those windows-laptops with similar hardware specs are double the price).
Bought laptop overseas, added RAM and SSDā€™s locally.

The shop I bought this laptop from told me this laptop is not compatible with Qubes OS (due to older kernel), so I chose to install Qubes R4.1rc2
I had some issues, like I could not get the installer to use over-provisioning of the SSDā€™s, so I used a xubuntu live USB to install LVM over LUKS, creating the pools and LVā€™s Qubes created, but allowing only 90% of the SSDā€™s being used, leaving 10% on each disk for over-provisioning. Of course all pools and LVā€™s are thinly-provisioned.
I was not so familiar with LVM when I started, so there may be better ways (maybe decreasing the pool from 100% to 90% after the install?). Anyway, I learned a lot in the process.

WiFi is still not working in QubesOS (it works in xubuntu LiveUSB*). Low priority now.
Since this laptop does not have hardware switches I may opt for a wired connection to a Raspberry Pi, that provides WiFi, that way I can run the first firewall and first VPN on the raspberry pi (with blackarch, with honey-pot). I have never used ArchLinux before, so on long term todo list for now. ((-: Iā€™m soo looking forward to Qubes Air!!! ;-))
*) although when installing xubuntu in another LV next to dom0 (as dual-boot, not inside Qubes), wifi doesnā€™t work in xubuntu out of the box either.

For now my /boot partition is not encrypted yet (that my explain the: tpm: ā€˜unknownā€™ā€¦ maybeā€¦ not sure). Will rerun qubes-hcl-report once /boot is encrypted (but donā€™t hold your breath!)

Also on my todo-list, once I learn LVM a bit moreā€¦ is use some kind of software-RAID so dom0 runs on every SSD for maximum redundancy: RAID0 over 3 SSDā€™s of different r/w speed => SSD1 - write-mostly(SSD2 - write-mostly(SSD3))

Have been using Qubes on this laptop now for 3 daysā€¦ apart from the above, the rest seems to be working fine.
I hope this post will be useful to someone.

If you let me know how I can open the .cpio.gz file and delete the serial numbers, then Iā€™ll add it too.

Cheers,
A point of attention within an infinite state of consciousness having an experience.

P.S. And a huge THANK YOU! to everyone involved creating this AWESOME OS!!!

Challenge accepted :stuck_out_tongue:

Thatā€™s actually a good pointā€¦

This is your wifi:

This will fix it:

Absolute beast of a machine, by the way. Should provide you with much joyness of the Qubic variety

Are you using the RTX 3060 or the integrated graphics?

I tried to install Qubes 4.1.1 on a usb c stick with fast read/write speeds about 12-15 times and I always get ā€œAn unknown error occurredā€ about a minute or two after the installation startsā€¦

Iā€™d really like to use this OS, for curiosity and also better privacy, depending on how great the loss of convenience will be, but in order to find out I would have to succeed installing it.

Any ideas what the problem on this processor/motherboard is?
