I always wonder that in the future will some Handheld technologies can run QubesOS?
Handheld like phone or tablet?
Qubes is a bit beefy in its ressource requirements and kinda designed to be used with the mouse, not with a touchscreen.
In the near- to mid-term future: unlikely.
If you are looking for something high security for a smartphone you may want to check out GrapheneOS.
Something similar + physical keyboard such as BlackBerry style. Not GraphenOS. I wish that could uses QubesOS. No company ever create that type of pocket tech.
Other than a 13” laptop I don’t know of anything that can run qubes. Most handhelds are ARM based as well.
Qubes on one of those old Nokia Communicators would be fun x)
If counting tablets (with attachable physical keyboard) as handhelds, I already posted an HCL, that it’s indeed possible: Getac UX10 G2
I wonder can fit inside the pocket of the pants?
It depends on the pocket. And the pants.
It’s not about naming and size, but about architectures and current Qubes limitations… More and more devices can held (pun intended) Qubes OS.
Also, the OP was clear: “… in the future…” We all hope many things regarding Qubes r8.0, so OP is legit.
