Fedora 43 Why is chromium the default app for so many files?

When chromium is installed, it becomes the default app for pdf and images. Chromium isn’t even in /usr/share/applications/mimeapps.list

But qvm-open-in-dvm a pdf for example, and firefox pops up telling you chromium is the default.

How do you change the system, not user, defaults?

For appvms, its easy to override it the first time. But its a pain for dispvms.

You need to ask the Chromium community/devs.

I’m asking about how thats set. And, how to unset it.

Thanks. I should have been more clear. I’m looking to change the system default, not user prefs. I use a lot of dispvms.

Then change the above setting in the template.
