Fedora-39-xfce no longer supported

noob here guys. qubes update manager says fedora-39-xfce is no longer supported. i wanted to ask what would be the best way to resolve this? should i install fedora-40-xfce using the template manager (if i do then what steps to follow next?) or should i do a dist-upgrade in fedora-39-xfce itself?

asking because i do not want anything to break by fiddling around by myself. i have had to reinstall qubes several times in the past and it is a pain to transfer data to new installations.

I install the new template in dom0 xfce terminal with

Sudo qubes-dom0-update qubes-template-fedora-41-xfce

And then change default and default dvm and other relevant services to it (in global settings and qubes manager or template switcher). You can switch back to 39 if you are worried about permanently messing up your install

is everything working as intended after the switch to fedora-41-xfce? did you have to do any configurations to the new fedora qube itself?

If you have custom configurations in the template, you will need to upgrade it in-place to keep them. If it’s a clean template, simply install a new version using the Qubes Template Manager.
