Ever use other desktop environments for Qubes?

I’m rather interested to use a much lighter desktop environment, such as LXDE or even DWM, for my install of Qubes since XFCE seems to get my Thinkpad running quite hot.

Is it actually possible to switch desktop environments on Qubes?

And, as a special case, how possible is it to run the Qubes manager by using the terminal alone, should I decided to switch to DWM?

I am using i3wm with qubes os.
For DWM, you should search the forum as there are guide threads to using DWM with qubes.
