Desktop Launchers, noob question

Hi, I like having desktop launchers, just a slight preference over menus.

As I understand it, all such launchers are in Dom0. Therefore they should launch apps using Qrexec. Presumably if I have Launchers like the following there are no safety issues? Or should I keep my desktop clear?

No safety issues. You are safe.

In dom0 by default at the moment. We might have sys-gui in the future in next Qubes OS releases and .desktop launchers could be there.

You could customize your Desktop and copy/add .desktop launcher icons to it as you desire. Copying the existing .desktop files of Appmenu to desktop and launching from them is no different than launching from the Appmenu
