Denied Qubes.USB

Hello,

Restart to use Qubes after years of not using it, hard stuff.
I am trying to use an external SSD USB to do the backup of my Qubes. I am using the sys-usb Qubes for all my usb devices. When trying to attach my external SSD to the sys-usb Qubes, I have this error message: Denied Qubes.USB Denied qubes.USB+3-2 from sys-usb to sys-usb

When checking on my dom0 for the /etc/qubes-rpc/policy/qubes.USB I have this: $anyvm $anyvm deny

What to do ? Thx

Dont attach it to the sys-usb qube. It’s already there.
Until you attach it elsewhere, the external device will appear in
sys-usb as a block device at /dev/sda or similar.
Use the devices gui to attach the device or partition where you want
it.

I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.
When I comment in the Forum I speak for myself.

Yes thx

I think I have a similar issue.

I am using a Framework 16. Not sure, but I think the keyboard speaks usb?

Suddenly, without me doing an update, after reboot, my keyboard wasn’t recognized anymor, after decrypting the main drive. So on login screen the keyboard is unresponsive.

Setting qubes.skip_autostart fixes the issue some how, but I have the same line in the same file as described above: $anyvm $anyvm deny

Also now, when I log in after boot and attach a usb keyboard, I dont get asked anymore, whether I want to attach it to dom, but it instantly just works. Also under qui-devices I can’t see the keyboard, which was the case before this, if I am not remembering it wrong ?
