Copying to a USB stick/drive

Please for give me if this has been asked 100 times, i know enough to get myself in trouble. Ive looked through the qubes documentation, fedora documentation so this is my last resort. Ive rebooted, wipe the usb drive, double checked it on a windows machine, I can mount, unmount copy from the usb, move that file around to different qubes but i just cant get it copied back to the USB drive. I keep getting permission denied messages. what am i doing wrong?

Clever, I shall go confirm that the problem was between the chair and keyboard.
