Contributing on GitHub requires JS and that creates challenges and some are discouraged

I don’t think that a complete lack of trust is realistic, even with FLOSS. Nobody can verify millions of lines of code running on their computers, not even if you regularly pay to somebody for such verification. Trust is a way to decrease your work in reading the code, which helps a lot in saving your time and resources. It’s an additional, useful mechanism on top of the community verification.
