Why is connections remote desktop installing with latest update? Or have I been compromised?

Either it was installed via malicious means or came with the most recent update. Not sure, but the program is called connections. No clue.
You haven’t said where it was installed.
Look in the relevant logs (/var/log/dnf.log for Fedora and
/var/log/apt/history.log for Debian) for insight.
Disregard, my bad. My sister indicated it does install the app with Qubes, but that it is harmless without a VMC client.
