[…] we don’t have a simple user guide that works for non-technical
and non-FOSS users. […] I really, really wish what Deeplow put
together, could go into a Qubes user guide. […] the robust
contributor community Qubes has, nor the core-team bandwidth.
Hi @Nina, I think virtually everyone here agrees with you including
@adw. His point I think is that the core developer team does not have
the bandwidth to deal with this (create & maintain) at this point in
Qubes OS’s development.
I know that Deeplow (and probably other contributors) would be keen
to work on such materials
You bet.
Something “Official” and on the QubesOS website
In my professional live I have ended countless philosophical arguments
by creating facts (i.e. prototype or draft) that could then be
criticized and improved upon. My proposal:
-
You make a very rough very high-level outline
-
We make that a wiki-post and unleash the community
-
Once we have a first good result, we make it available exactly as the
guidelines say we should. -
We restart the conversation about where it should live, but this time
with a concrete thing to look at and a team of contributors that have
ownership and commitment to the thing.
