Cannot connect externel monitor hub via Thunderbolt

I bought a Dell U4025QW monitor that I am trying to connect to my NovaCustom NV41 series Laptop running Qubes 4.2 via Thunderbolt, so far without success. Neither the monitor nor any connected USB devices are picked up (xrandr only shows the built in screen). Connecting the Display via HDMI works. I have tried both hot-plugging and cold-plugging the monitor, but that does not change anything.

I have tried to look for possible solutions but could not find anything helpful. Any ideas what else I could try?

Do you have a sys-usb qube?

Do you use hdmi or display port on the hub?

Are you connecting the hub on the port on the left?

Is it a thunderbolt or usb c hub?

I do have a sys-usb qube. The monitor has a build-in hub, which I connect directly to the thunderbolt port on the left side.

I see, I never tried a thunderbolt hub on my NV41, I just had one device in thunderbolt (an external GPU) but it was a complex device.

I can tell a usb C dock works fine, I don’t really know how the thunderbolt port works on Qubes OS
