Attach USB controller to AppVM (to work around MTP error)

I’m trying to transfer the photos on my Android phone to my Qubes system. I get an MTP error when I attach the device to my AppVM and try to mount it, which is described here:

Workaround: You can try to attach the whole USB controller to your AppVM, then it will behave like sys-usb, i.e., should work. Related issue:

It’s a different procedure, with a different GUI, in fact, you need to create a sort of second sys-usb qube, like this:

Why you would sacrifice AppVM for that? THe least dangerous option to do it , if you need to attach android phone to your usb controller, is in a dispVM. And you have to be ready to say goodbye to that USB controller for any other purpose, not to say you shouldn’t have attached another SUB controller with it in any sys-usb kind of vm.
