Are AMD 9060 gpus have reset bug?
Is this avoidable somehow?
If the reset bug is present do I must restart the entire system each time or is there some workaround this issue?
Anyone here uses any of 9060 kind gpu? if yes please share your experience(cons/pros).
I have AMD RX 9060 XT (16GB). I have no problems when using with Linux HVMs with PCI passthrough. But on Windows 10 Pro, I can’t get the monitor output working. Displays some garbled output only and then I think the drivers decide it’s not worth trying any longer and the output gets disabled completely. But it does do computing even on Windows 10. The resizable BAR won’t work. And I think it might be a problem with some more difficult Linux distribution HVMs too for OpenCL, now that I think about it. But generally it works fine for me.
By no problem you mean the GPU stops with no issues if you shutdown only the HVM that was using it and start that HVM again?
Did you use no-strict-reset or permissive flags?
What version of the 9060 do you have? I was looking for the nitro+ variant as it’s the most performant and silent one but it is so massive and ugly.
I have PowerColor Reaper. It was cheap (old stock perhaps) in comparison to others and it had 16 GB VRAM, which I thought was important for performance. I can shutdown and start the same or other Linux HVM’s right after without power cycling the Qubes OS. I don’t know if it is a proof of full reset. I don’t have no-strict-reset or any other flags enabled for the assignments. I have had it happen with NVIDIA card that if the HVM doesn’t fully shutdown, the card stays in a state that prevents it from working on the next HVM boot even though it doesn’t have no-strict-reset either. Power cycling Qubes fixes it for me.

You know you can do local AI fully offline with 16gb yeah? This is the main reason I get it.
Qubes should be so great for this.
