i am in the process of throwing aways qubes as it gets kinda unorganized on my machine…
So i was wondering what the qube “anon-whonix” is for as it does not seem to be a template for anything and i am only using the whonix dvm’s. So what is it for and does one need it?

It’s a persistent (not disposable) whonix workstation qube in case you
would want to safe state (have email, IRC setup etc.)
If you don’t need it you can simply remove it in the Qube Manager or via
qvm-remove
anon-whonix is the qube where you open Tor Browser and browse the web
anonymously. If you don’t use Whonix, you can remove this qube: Uninstall Qubes-Whonix
The OP mentioned “i am only using the whonix dvm’s” so uninstalling it
would be counter-productive.
Ah ok, so only the template for the “non-disp”-VM. Thank you!
To be nit-picky:
Template: whonix-15-ws
AppVm: anon-whonix (based on whonix-15-ws template) … this is a
non-disposable aka “normal” AppVM
DispVM Template: anon-dvm (based on whonix-15-ws template and has the
template_for_dispvms property set to true) … so this is an AppVM that
serves as a template for a DispVM
