I have tried both R4.0.3 and R 4.0.4-rc1 with my AMD Ryzen 7 2700U processor. I have virtualization checked as Enabled in BIOS. On my current Linux install, in /proc/cpuinfo
I have the svm
flag. VirtualBox works with AMD-V nesting. But whenever I try to install Qubes, I get the incompatibility error during the initialization of the installer saying my hardware does not support virtualization. I tried installing Qubes anyway and skipping the error, but after boot I can’t launch any VM because I keep getting the message that virtualization is off. What can I do?
Hi @sushilord,
My first idea is a bad BIOS/UEFI setting.
You can:
- try legacy mode vs UEFI (setting in BIOS/UEFI and also boot menu entries)
- (re)read the install guide for checking if you miss a step or a setting
- read the troubleshootings help
- (re)read the system-requirements
- search a similar hardware in HCL
- try a R4.1 alpha iso
- wait next 4.10.4rcX with a 5.y default kernel
I hope that one of the above lines will help you.
