A while ago I’ve had an issues with Qubes 4.1: after 3 months of working flawlessly, suddenly sys-usb and other qubes wouldn’t start. I’ve not seen similar topic here. I’ve managed to backup everything, move to Fedora and decrypt my data (thanks for GREAT guide on that!). I’d like to try Qubes again, however I’m afraid this is going to happen again, and backing up 1TB of data is no fun. Did you encounter a similar issue perhaps? Was it solved?
I’ve had this happen to me a few times. Because Qubes is so “elastic” (for lack of a better term), I was able to “bounce back” by:
- Rolling back of the default kernel version within “Qubes Global Settings” to the one prior to upgrade
- Stop panicking because all came “back to life”
- Select newest kernel for default kernel version in “Qubes Global Settings”
- Upgrading qubes
(Or, something like that anyway)
Thats great to hear! So I will try again Qubes and hopefully if/when that happens again these steps help me recover!
