Adding qubes system tray to regular polybar (since qubes-polybar doesnt install)

i can’t install the qubes contributed package qubes-polybar. So im using the regular polybar package instead…

I added the contrib repo by following the official documentation. No problems with that.

But trying to install doing:
sudo qubes-dom0-update --clean qubes-polybar

gives me this:

Looking at the github page for qubes-polybar it says Qubes 4.0 only, and since I’m on 4.2 Im guessing that’s why.

anyway, I installed the regular polybar instead, using:
sudo qubes-dom0-update polybar

It works fine, now I just want my system tray to show in polybar. Idk how to configure this. Do I try to reuse qubes-i3status, or is another solution needed?

Im hoping that there already is a solution available since there is the qubes-polybar contrib package, for Qubes 4.0.
