Have somebody successfully managed to passthrough nvidia 3090 rtx for cuda/gaming applications?
Yes, I pass through two. No issues. Read the community guide on gaming VM to avoid surprises
Make sure you pass through both functions of the corresponding PCI device (the graphics and audio, which will have BDFs like 03:00.0 and 03:00.1)

Do you have a founder edition? Do you think msi or zotac would differ and make the pass through more problematic? I am a bit unsure regarding the manufacturer…
I wouldn’t expect any specific manufacturer to really make a difference. As I understand it the main difference at that level is just clocks, cooling, form-factor, etc.
I chose mine based on the form factor, being one of the thinner models to fit two of them more easily in my case (EVGA XC3)
